![]() We wanted auto-open, third rack, and another feature or two that I can't remember now, and it was a $1.6k model that we ended up with. It feels like a panzer tank is sitting in my kitchen. The Miele is made of more metal and just feels more sturdy/durable in general. I live in a soft water area so I haven't had the need to use the built-in water softener, so not sure if there is a difference between them on that. In terms of cleaning performance, drying, etc, they are about the same. Is the Miele worth the extra? Does it wash better and will reliability be what it’s claimed to be (20 years) on the new 5000 models? Is it much more expensive to buy parts or get repairs on them vs Bosch? Any input would be appreciated. I’m looking for the most reliable and best performing Dishwasher without spending $2000. Does the zeolite crystal dry feature have a tendency to break down? Does the zeolite drying feature replace it? I don’t see why it couldn’t have both auto open and zeolite. It seems (based on filtering on Bosch website) that none have auto open feature, which I want, but the 500 series have it. The Bosch 800 series is $1099 to $1299, and I found a few in stock, but I’m trying to figure out what the difference is between the $1099 and $1299 models. I’d have to get a handle that doesn’t match my fridge since pocket isn’t available. It looks like the best Miele option is around $1650 (has auto open)and I can get it here locally even though most models are out of stock until June. I have been researching Miele and Bosch for months now and would like some input.
